Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Design
The majority of this wireless gaming headset is made of very thick durable plastic even the silver area on both ear cup sides, and the adjustable bars are aluminum. So this feels very solid. We can twist them up without any worries and we can feel a little more firm in the headband. we also can bend the headband as well, but it depends on the adjustment. This gaming headset has full of swivels, so when you use this you can feel the build quality incredibly.
On top of the headband, we can see Turtle Beach imprinted and when looking at the sides we can see the Turtle Beach logo on each side of the ear cups. The headset weighs 453.59 grams and has one lithium polymer battery installed in there.
When it comes to the controls of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, all of the control dials are located on the left-hand side ear cup, and the right ear cup has nothing on there. Firstly we have a master volume dial and a mappable wheel. Then there is a mode button to cycle through the different equalizer audio presets. Next, we got the power button, Bluetooth button, LED indicator, and a type-C charge port.

The ear cushions are removable and if you are a gamer who uses glasses, you can adjust this ear cushion to be more comfortable. We can just pop these ear cushions right off the headset and we can see four notches right there. So after they remove the ear cushion there is a clip does it allows you to adjust and we just want a small screwdriver and pull it out for it.
So when we pull it we can see the ear cushion will recess inwards slightly more where the glasses handle meets. That clip is available on the other side as well. So this is a great feature to be more comfortable when we are wearing glasses. When we want to take off the headset, we can turn them sideways and rest them on our shoulders.
In close on the speakers on each earcup, they are actually 50-millimeter drivers on here and you’ve got a mesh finish just to protect the driver and it never contacts the ear when we actually wear the headset.
There is plenty of adjustment on the headset. we can see the headband can pull out with the little metal reinforcement that is so extra secure and it fits in really well into place. We also have plenty of swivel in the earcups, so this headset fits any head shape perfectly.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Comfort
|
turtlebeach.com |
If we look at the padding of the ear padding, we can see the majority of comfort is coming from these fantastic ear cushions. it has memory foam padding on there with coolant gel which we’ve seen in a lot of Turtle Beach headsets like the atlas arrows and the elite atlases. Inside the ear cushions, we can find the sports materials and but on the outside, you do have that pleather.
Our ears are not getting hot at all with earcups. These ear cups are also plenty big, plenty deep, and the same shape that we saw in the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2. But this Stealth 700 Gen 2’s earcups fit on our ears more than Stealth 600 Gen 2. Because they have a soft lining inside and outside and a pinch bigger as well.
When it comes to clamping force it is quite a tight fit, but with all the padding on both sides and the top headband does still feel very comfortable when we wear this wireless gaming headset. So we can play long periods of gaming with this Stealth 700 Gen 2. The headband also has a very nice soft plush memory foam feeling as the ear cups and it is completely pleather.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Connectivity
In terms of connecting this Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, it is very nice and simple work. We have to plug the dongle into our console and we just need to press the power button once on the left ear cup.
So when we plug the dongle into our gaming console, firstly it shows the indicator, and after we can see it is flashing blue. Then when we pair the gaming headset with the console, we can hear it tell us the battery level of the headset, and as soon as it’s paired up, we get a message saying that. On the Xbox version when we are paired, if we turn on the headset the Xbox also will power on.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is not limited to just using controls for connectivity and we can configure it even more. We also can connect to our mobile phones using Bluetooth and that was just as simple as pressing and enabling the Bluetooth on our mobile and just pairing it.
So when you actually get a phone call from the paired mobile phone, you can answer it while playing the game on the console. Because the Bluetooth volume is controlled through our device and the volume control of your game is controlled on the headset.
This goes for a pc as well if you are synced up through the dongle. As earlier we can listen to some music playing in the background because again we can control both volumes on your device and on your headset.
This wireless gaming headset does work with the PC with a Bluetooth connection as well. As we connected the console earlier, we just have to plug the dongle into the PC and turn on the headset. It will be paired up within a second. So with this, we also can take a call hands-free while playing games with the headset.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: App Settings
|
support.turtlebeach.com |
For mobile phones, there is an app called Turtle Beach Audio Hub that can install from PlayStore. So it gives us some additional options. When it comes to the master volume, it can not adjust with this app, but if we adjust it from the wheel on the ear cup we can see it charging
We can turn the superhuman hearing sound feature on from this app as well and we can adjust the level here. This superhuman hearing sound feature works with any low-level frequencies and it will pick up and enhance for us so if we are in a game we can clearly hear people walking around noise around us and firing directions. So we can on this great sound feature as simply as with this setting on the app.
Then we can see the EQ presets below the superhuman hearing. There are 4 different EQ presents like the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2. That is,
- Signature Sound
- Bass boost
- Bass and treble Boost
- Vocal Boost
There is an EQ custom option as well that we can go into edit and save the settings. So we have our own custom one. After that, we got a mic monitor feature. In this app, we got 3 pages, so when we swipe to the second page we can see more settings on it.
On the second page, firstly mic monitor level. When we click on that we can change the secondary volume control and adjust it. We have got superhuman hearing with different options for that. Then we can see the noise gate feature and the tone levels.
On the final page of the settings, we can even do a firmware update from the app as well. So these are all the options we have available and we do not have to plug into a pc for instance to change it.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Sound Quality
|
dmcc.com |
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 uses 50-millimeter nano clear drivers, so the Stealth 600 Gen 2s have 50-millimeter nano clear drivers, and the Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Arrows also have 50-millimeter nano clear drivers. But all three drivers are different.
Because when we come to the sound science of speakers, if we make a cone very light it can move quickly and that is what is making our sound. If it makes it too light and too weak it can flex. So it is making sounds and moving back and forward. The solution to that is either to make the cone stiffer, we can increase the weight, or sacrifice power handling.
That is what Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 did. So they have little ridges around the drivers and when we look really close and you pop these covers off we can see like little grooves. That is increasing the stiffness of the driver which is giving you a better bass response and power handling and also keeps the driver weight down. It is accurate and it sounds good it keeps the cost down because they do not have to go with this super fat driver.
So 50- the millimeter driver of Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 delivers serious bass compared to the Astro A50 which is double the price. The sound is extremely loud and very powerful when the max volume is. Due to the synthetic earcup technology that they have synthetic leather has really good noise isolation and the sound is getting pushed into our ears very well. So it is a very efficient way of transmitting sound to our ears.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Battery Life
When it comes to charging, we can charge the headset with a USB cable. One end of the cable goes into a USB point which is plugged in and the type-C connection goes into the type-C that is located on the left ear cup. When we plug into the charge the headset, there is a LED indicator that serves as a multi-purpose. It shows the battery life of the headset and there are 6 different indicating signals. So when it is,
- Solid Red – The headset is charging
- Breathing Red – The Battery is low
- Breathing Blue – The Battery is Full
- Solid Blue – The headset and the mini transmitter has paired up
- Fast Blinking – Bluetooth Pairing
- Solid White – Bluetooth Pad
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 has 20 hours of battery life. Unfortunately, we can not charge this headset easily while playing games. Because the other wireless headsets come with a separate cable. So we can plug it directly into our controller and keep those headsets charging. But we don’t have any cable like that with this headset. So when we want to charge while using the gaming headset, we have to plug in to charge the headset and have the dongle plugged in at the same time
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: Microphone
|

The microphone also is made of plastic that can be brought out when it’s in use and we can mute it just by flipping it back up again. If we are looking in close we can see the microphone holes. The microphone can swing in and swing out as well to take it close to the mouth.
This is an omnidirectional microphone with great sound quality like podcast quality, sounds are very clear and loud. It is more than adequate for gaming and the great point is it still has low latency but great sound. The wireless stability is phenomenal and it is not getting any audio dropouts. This is really about as good as it gets for the expectation of how a gaming headset should perform. So we can chat with friends while playing games smoothly.
The noise cancellation of the microphone is good and it can cancel sounds like the PC sounds and air condition sounds etc. As I mentioned before we can just flip it halfway to mute, so we do not have to flip it all the way. When it is mute and turned on it delivers a tone to recognize, so a low tone to mute it and a high tone to activate it. But that sound is not picking up when we use the headset, it is a great point.
Summary
When it comes to the summary, Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 build quality is good and comfortable to wear even for long periods. The superhuman hearing also does a great job. low-level sounds become very clear and we can hear a lot of things with directional sounds. We can connect to our phones with Bluetooth and we can answer a phone call while playing games. The microphone option that can flip it open and then mute it just flip it back again is a nice and easy feature. Battery life and the app settings are good as well.
We got all the controls on one side which can be a little bit disturbing when you are trying to adjust. So we have to remember which one is which. And also charging while using the headset is a little bit difficult. The clamping force is a little bit tight but the cushioning helps ease any sort of pressure from that. So only these 2 facts are bad points of this gaming headset that I can find, but Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 has many great features as I mentioned above for this price tag and this is one of the best wireless gaming headsets that glasses friendly.
So this is the end of the full review of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 wireless gaming headset. Thank you for reading this article and if you enjoy this blog post please share it with your gaming friends. If you want to read more about gaming articles, stay in tune with us.
