Logitech brand made many great performing gaming headsets that force something a little more premium of each gaming headset with an affordable price tag. 4 years ago Logitech release the Logitech G935 Wireless gaming headset on Feb. 5, 2019, as their flagship headset in that time after Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum.

Due to new products and price drops, the Logitech G935 Wireless headset now retails price at $104.49 from Amazon. Even 4 years old, this Logitech G935 gaming headset can give us good comfort, excellent wireless connectivity, and superb sound quality with a wide range of features.

So even today, it feels like a high-end premium wireless headset for gamers that still keeps up with current gaming headset models. At the same time, the headset has a few cons and unnecessary features, such as RGB lighting, and microphone quality, and the design is a little dated and bulky as well.

Overall, Logitech G935 Wireless is one of the best gaming headsets in the Logitech company. So let’s talk about this headset is worth our money today. First of all, let’s see the specifications and Pros and Cons briefly.

Logitech G935 Wireless: In the Box

In the box, We get a few things with the headset. We get a micro-USB charging cable for charging. So yes, this gaming headset does charge over a 2-meter braided micro-USB but keep in mind this did come out at the start of 2019. Then we also get a 3.5-millimeter audio cable which is 1.5 meters in length. So, If you want to work with wire, we can just go ahead and plug in the 3.5-millimeter audio cable to the console or PC they do work cross-platform.

So, we don’t have to worry about if you’re using them on a PC, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, or a mobile phone they will work. if you don’t have a USB point for the receiver you need to go ahead and use that 3.5-millimeter audio cable which I mean if the battery goes flat. It’s there for you anyway so that’s kind of a good backup to have.

We also can see the cables that come with the headset are pretty much lengthy. Even other headset packages have these cables but we can not use them. Because they are very short to use. At this point, Logitech G935 Wireless is in front compared with other gaming headsets. Lastly, we have the USB Bluetooth dongle for 2.4 gigahertz wireless connectivity. USB Bluetooth dongle is normal size dongle like other gaming headset dongles.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Comfort

The Logitech G935 Wireless is actually quite comfortable. On the sides of the ear cups, we’ve got some nice really memory foam pads and they are squishy. So, when we are wearing them, we don’t feel any pressure on our ears, and the clamping force is great for use in longer sessions. So, they are actually quite comfortable.

The ear cups don’t get your ears too hot as well. They actually allow ears to breathe air a little bit. We can swivel the ear cups. So, we can get them on to the shoulders comfortably when you’re not wearing them. We can also adjust the size of the headset just to make it as comfortable as possible for ourselves as well.

logitechg.com

On the top of your headset, we’ve got a nice foam padding under the headband and it is also squishy as well. So, the headset does overall give you some good comfort to users. But this gaming headset is not lightweight. If you’re wearing a wireless headset you do get some extra weight from the battery that it needs to store and there are 50-millimeter drivers to deliver good sound quality.

But there are some lighter wireless headsets in the market. So, this is a disadvantage which is the headset does show. But this headset has good build quality with great materials. There is no breaking point to worry about or rattling noise when we use it. So even if not lightweight it will not be an issue even for long gaming sessions for gamers. Overall, again we can say it was quite comfortable to use. We can wear glasses comfortably with this headset without an issue as well.

When it comes to sound isolation, these are closed-back headsets. So, we are going to get some pretty good passive sound isolation. Logitech G935 Wireless doesn’t disappoint there. So, if we are wanting to block out a lot of outside noise this headset definitely does a great job.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Battery Life

The battery life of the Logitech G935 Wireless is also another great area. This gaming headset has a pretty decently good battery life. The Logitech claims 12 hours of battery life without RGB lighting, and we can say these numbers are legit. We have 8 hours of battery life with RGB lighting turned on.

When it comes to recharging the headset, we can recharge Logitech G935 Wireless quite quickly. It only takes about an hour to reach full charge which is great. So, this is one of the fastest-recharging headsets in the market.

logitechg.com

We can also recharge this gaming headset while using the headset at the same time. So, we don’t have to worry about switching them off when we are not using the headset to recharge them. We can recharge and gain at the exact same time which is great as well. But when we use the headset while charging we have to plug in the wireless dongle same time. We can’t run the headsets with the cable alone.

when we not using the headset and there’s no audio coming from the PC, console, or whatever we connect the headset will go to sleep. So, it will save battery life. But it wasn’t all the time sometimes if we have like a YouTube tab open and there was no music playing, the headset will sort of stay active and drained the battery life.

So, we have to make sure to be mindful enough to turn off the headset even when there is a sleep feature. It is really important and good for the headset. Otherwise, when we come back, the battery life will be flat. but as I mentioned before they didn’t take long to recharge. So, that’s a big advantage.

Logitech G935 Wireless: RGB Lighting

Speaking of RGB lighting, this headset also includes RGB lighting, and we can see that RGB lighting exists in a few places on the headset. The RGB lighting exists as light strips on the ear cups, and it exists on the sides of the logo as well. But we can see there are light strips on the back of the ear cup.

logitechg.com

If you are streaming with this headset, the light strips will be useless. We can’t see it either. The only thing we can think of is that when we are gaming, and someone is walking into the room behind us, they can see the RGB lighting is on. It makes them think like all these people’s playing a game or they’re hearing some sounds.

However, the RGB lighting is cool when we are using wireless headsets especially when we are gaming. We can control the RGB lighting elements using the Logitech G Hub software that is downloadable from the Logitech website. So, it’s up to me entirely what sort of patterns or what sort of colors we want to put on the headset on the RGB lighting.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Controls

On the back of the headset, we’ve got a few controls on the ear cup. Firstly, we have the power switch button to on and off the headset. Then we’ve got three programmable buttons named G1, G2, and G3. Being a wireless gaming headset, we can definitely experience the value of having some programmable buttons on the back. There is a microphone mute button which is a handy button. But we can easily mute the microphone by just flipping it up as well. Then we have a little audio dial.

logitechg.com

So, we can control the volume from the back of the headset. This audio wheel is an infinity wheel. So, we can a little beeping sound when we reach the maximum or minimum levels of the volume. If you do listen to a lot of music with gaming, programmable buttons will definitely be helpful. We can use those programmable buttons for just basic music controls like pause, play, and skip and also turn the surround sound on or off or change our EQ profile kind of things as well

We also can assign them to almost anything with the Logitech G Hub software. We have got a 3.5-millimeter jack to connect the cable for consoles like the PlayStation 4 Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Then a micro-USB point is for actually charging the headset. Around the other side of the same ear cup, there is a microphone that can flip down. There are no other connectors or buttons on the right ear cup.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Design

In terms of design, it’s got a matte finish on the top of the headband with some branding in the middle. The headset has a matte glossy finish going in the ridges and the same goes for the outside of the ear cup. Logitech G935 Wireless has adjustable arms that have a big range of adjustments to fit any big size of the head. These adjustable arms are made of metal on either side as normal in most headsets.

The cool thing about the design of this gaming headset we do have a compartment inside the headset to store the Bluetooth dongle which every wireless headset should have. Like if it’s wireless and it does have a dongle so we should at least store it somewhere on the headset for safety. So, we can use Logitech G935 Wireless for traveling as well-being without worry.

logitechg.com

Because not only this compartment but also the passive noise isolation as well. We can just pop it with our nails and open it up. There’s a slight USB tag indicating to we got the actual USB adapter in there. So, when we pop that off, we can see some metal and some magnets obviously to secure it into position.

There is another compartment on the right ear cup. When we pop it out, we can find the battery. We can just disconnect it to replace the battery. So serviceable not often we see that generally with wireless headphones you don’t really easily have this accessible which is nice.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Sound Quality

Logitech G935 Wireless got nice 50-millimeter sound drivers that actually sound pretty good. Normally most other gaming headsets in the gaming headset market have 40-millimeter sound drivers. So, we can say this headset delivers outstanding sounds with loud noise levels. In terms of decibels on one driver it goes around 90 decibels. They also sound good in all areas the base is pretty good and the highs are pretty good as well. Which means it is above the average kind of sound quality of the headset.

logitechg.com

It is actually quite impressed with them given that even though they are four-year-old headsets that the sound is actually quite decent. We know that most closed-back headsets do not always recreate sound accurately. But the Logitech G935 Wireless gaming headset does a great job of doing recreate sounds. It is like this headset is striving to sort of achieve that recreate the sound quality of the open-back headsets.

Even the virtual surround sound is actually pretty decent as well. So overall we can happy with how Logitech G935 Wireless sounded. The 7.1 surround sound which is featuring the I think it’s DT X 2.0 and then you can use the software and Logitech G you have to customize the EQ and the sound profile. The 7.1 surround sound makes an absolutely just like a game-changer.

logitechg.com

If we are playing games with the 7.1 surround sound, we can hear the enemies sneak up behind us or come through a door or come through from a different direction. It almost made it feel like where they were coming from and pre aim knowing they were going to be running towards us to try and take us out. So, the 7.1 surround sound of Logitech G935 Wireless is absolutely a game-changer for gaming.

The other cool thing is that 7.1 surround sound works with movies. So, if we have got movies that have surround sound built into them, we can actually have this headset on for quite an enjoyable movie or entertainment experience. So, if you are just looking to watch content like movies, and YouTube videos that the Logitech G935 Wireless is great for that as well.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Microphone

The microphone is a six-millimeter cardioid microphone that is unidirectional. When we want to use the microphone, we can flip it down from the left ear cup. It also can extend out to be pointed directly at our mouth. It is quite an impressive design for a microphone.

Because it allows us to get the microphone aimed more directly at our mouth for a little bit of boost to clarity without being too obtrusive. The microphone is small and very minimal compared with other gaming headsets.

It can actually flip up to mute as well which is instead of using the mic mute button on the back of the ear cup. When we flip up the microphone is almost completely hidden in the ear cup.

We have got the flip to move so it’s nice to have that option like that. Actually, we don’t need to extend the microphone. Because we can actually leave the microphone unextended and still use it as normal.

logitechg.com

That didn’t make any difference to the sound quality of the microphone. There is a little red LED light end of the microphone that turns on when the microphone is muted. Then we can hear a little beeping sound as a notification when we flip up and down the microphone.

When it comes to the quality of the microphone I wasn’t too impressed with the microphone. With this price point, it is just a little bit underwhelming. There wasn’t much body, and it wasn’t very full.

The sound didn’t feel like there was any attention to the lows and metal highs. It was just all one tone sounded very much. Unfortunately, this microphone is performing not that well.

But on the plus side of this microphone what it lacks in quality it makes up for in a bit of clarity. On the other end, a person can definitely hear what we are saying with this microphone quite clearly. It’s not muffled in any way and sounds do come off quite clear.

At the end of the day basic communication is the goal for this microphone. Logitech G935 Wireless microphone can achieve that. If all we are doing is some the occasional discord call or chatting with our friends in online games, it’s passable with this microphone.

Logitech G935 Wireless: Logitech G Hub Software.

We can download the software from the Logitech website, and we have to plug in the USB dongle and turn on the headset to use this software. Once we’ve clicked on the headset first of all we can see a section where we can control the Lightsync. So, we can go for the primary or the logo separately. The primary is the light strap area, and the logo obviously is the G another side. There are 5 different options under the effects.

The options are Fixed, Cycle, Breathing, Screen Sampler, and Audio Visualizer. Screen Sampler is quite an interesting effect. As we go over areas of the screen it will change color according to that. The same goes for the Audio Visualizer and which will change color in according to the music. We also can adjust the speed of lighting by Rate and brightness as well. We also can turn the RGB lighting off from here.

logitechg.com

The next section is assignments. This is where we can actually assign the programmable buttons at the side to do so many different options. Then we have actions and macros that can record our own macros as well.  On the system, we get options like the previous track, playing the next track, and things like that as well. So, this is pretty comprehensive after admitting a lot in there.

Then we have the acoustics section. There we can adjust the volume of the headset, and control the microphone volume, and sidetone as well. Below that there is noise removal and enable surround sounds. If we click enable surround sounds, we can actually see the different levels around for surround sounds. We can turn them up and down as per our requirements or just obviously leave it in this configuration as default. Even if the place is changeable if we found anything too high, we can actually turn it down to very impressive.

logitechg.com

Finally, we have the Equalizer section as well. There are different settings to change the EQ settings. We could configure your own as well if you wanted to. This is so very comprehensive in terms of functionality on this and very impressive what we can do and change with it.
