HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Pros and Cons
Pros | Cons |

Adjustable clear microphone with noise-canceling. | No software experience. Not suitable for music. The headset charging wire has to be more lengthy. |
HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Build Quality
When we are wearing the headset, we can feel the relatively lightweight, not too heavy. Because the build of the headset is mainly plastic that of sandblasted aluminum.
So, some sharp edges come as a result of the plastic molding however throughout the headset are nice touches that benefit the construction material HyperX has been molded into the top of the headset the plastic has a textured surface which brings a more premium feel to the design.
There is plenty of adjustment within the headband. So, if you got a big head, it’s going to fit you greatly. It really holds its notches steps. So, whenever you take it on and off, it doesn’t just float around on you and holds its position.
There’s also plenty of movement and swivel within the ear cups. So, it can go in and out or fold them flat and a little bit forward. As far as any head shape or through wear glasses they fit perfectly.

This is a great comfort, especially for gamers who wear glasses while playing the games like me. The ear cup rotation to wear the headset on a neck is also comfortable because when we are wearing the headset like that, it doesn’t feel like any joint.
We are not going to get any certain pressure point and just scoop right around the ears and form right to any head size. It still has decent passive isolation but not so good.
The ear pads and the headband have plenty of plush and they are both fully pleather. They’ve just locked in that sound, and they feel fantastic. The ears don’t touch the driver’s inside.
Plenty of plushness on the headband as well. Finally, we can say HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is incredibly comfortable for longer use without an issue.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Controls
The volume wheel is on the right ear cup. It does continuously roll on it and it has steps that are quite firm. But whenever we get to the max volume or the lowest volume, we get a little beep of notification in the headset.
So, it let us know that we are maxed out. It’s quite smooth with good resistance. We have a power button and a charging port. The battery LED status is on the left ear cup with color-coded flashes to indicate your battery life.

The controls are easily within reach, and it will not take long at all to adjust to their location and use while gaming. Then the microphone is permanently attached to the headset. It can mold in any position really nicely, and it is flipped up to mute. Here also we can hear a little click when we flip up, so we know when it does mute.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Sound Quality
When we come to the sound quality on HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is pretty nice and very loud on every device. It has 40-millimeter drivers with 20-hertz to 20-kilohertz frequency response.
Usually, on a PlayStation 4, the sound drops quite a bit with most of the gaming headsets on the market. But HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is very punchy and very loud even on the PlayStation 4.

But sometimes they’re almost a little bit too punchy not too loud and there’s a little bit too much low-end. The base of the headset is very immersive. When we play shooting games with this gaming headset, we can hear footsteps very clearly. It will be incredibly awesome.
It kind of took everything over for a brief second like firing sounds, and grenade explosions as well. Overall, it was very immersive on every single device, and everything was balanced.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Microphone
As I mentioned before on built quality, the microphone of the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is a noise-canceling uni-directional microphone with up to 12 meters of wireless operation and is always attached to the headset.
hyperx.com |
It is flipped up to muting and we do have two little clicks. So, we can feel it and hear it whenever we flip it up and down. The microphone is very nice and moldable in any position. The sound of the microphone is great as well.
HyperX Cloud Stinger Core: Wireless Connection
We can use HyperX Cloud Stinger Core across all those devices by simply plugging in the USB dongle and powering on the headset. Then we are connected to play games. So, we don’t have to sync it whenever you’re going from each different device again and again.
We just have to simply plug the USB dongle in and power on the headset and we are all set to play, that is it. so as far as wireless use in this gaming headset is fantastic and incredibly easy to use. Most gamers love that when a gaming headset to just simply plug because of the easiness. There are no interruptions in the wireless range which is about 6 meters away even with two walls in between.
hyperx.com |
But there is also a downside. As far as the wireless connection on this headset it is only Wireless. We can see most of the wireless gaming headsets in the market give a 3.5 jack.
So, if we are not charging the headset and the battery dies when we are in a middle of a game, we can still plug it into 3.5 really quickly and be good to go to play the game again. It is very useful when we are in a boss fight or an interesting mission in a game.
Even though the sound quality usually drops. As far as a wireless headset ran through 3.5 the quality drops quite a bit, but we still have that option. So, on the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless, we don’t have that option. Our only option is Wireless.
But we do have a battery life of around 17 hours of playback at 50% volume and we got around 12 hours of playback slightly above at 50% volume. So, it should be plenty fine, and as a gamer, it’s huge relief.
When it comes to the USB dongle is the same as found on the HyperX Cloud Flight but with a blue indicator instead of red. The HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless USB receiver text is on them for identification as well. If you travel the receiver fits inside the ear cushion perfectly. So, we don’t have to worry about traveling with this gaming headset.
